But heteronormativity is the default. I don't think trying to change a fact changes a fact. Glorifying it above all else is a mistake, acknowledging it is normative is not. The idea is too not invalidate or dismiss or marginalize non-heteronormative relationships. But for instance we don't need to have gay/transgender couples/people on every show because that is not a reflection of reality either.

I agree on the under-reporting, the only reason I find the lesiban-most and homesexual-men-least data so compelling is that it exposes the lie that men are violent/controlling/abusive in relationships and women are victims.
